The Pediatric Endocrine Society of Kenya (PESK) alongside the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Ministry of Health take aim at improving the lives of children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) in Makueni and Kitui Counties. This initiative tackles missed diagnoses, inadequate management, and gaps in routine care.
PESK Training Empowers Healthcare Workers for Effective T1DM Management
Workshops, seminars, and hands-on sessions equip healthcare workers with the latest knowledge for:
Early T1DM Recognition: Prompt identification of symptoms for timely intervention.
Optimized Management Strategies: Evidence-based approaches including insulin therapy, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
Comprehensive Care Protocols: Holistic care encompassing medical treatment, psychosocial support, and patient education.
Building a Network for Improved T1DM Care Across Kenya
This program empowers healthcare workers, fosters a network of trained professionals, and advocates for better diabetes care throughout Kenya. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in supporting children and adolescents with T1DM.
