I like how the sessions are interactive and how it’s easy to follow through. Managing T1DM in children is clearly going to be much easier after this training.
Interactive lessons, I love the content the facilitators deliver the message well and in a simple way. The practical parts are especially useful. We can manage type 1 diabetes now properly with the knowledge impacted on us.
Key message learnt
– Blood sugar testing to be part of the Vital signs at OPD
-No initial IV/SC insulin bolus to DKA patients at admission
-fluid resuscitation for 2 hours for DKA patients be starting Insulin
-No pre mixed insulin therapy for T1DM.
Transion all children/adolescents who are still on MIXTARD
-BASAL BOLUS therapy for all T1DM, multiple injection per day
