Day 1 – Thursday, April 23, 2026

Session 1

  • Situation of CAH and DSD in African countries: challenges and opportunities
  • Pragmatic approach for early diagnosis of DSD in a resource-limited setting
  • Psychosocial stigma and gender assignment decisions in DSD and CAH

Session 2

  • Role and challenges of surgery in the context of DSD and CAH in Africa
  • Facilitating acceptance of late surgery for parents
  • Indications for gonadectomy in DSD

Day 2 – Friday, April 24, 2026

Session 3

  • Enhancing CAH management, including steroid replacement therapy, dose adjustment, and monitoring in challenging environments
  • Emergency management of adrenal crisis: increasing community and healthcare worker awareness and preparedness
  • Late presentation of CAH and dilemma of sex reassignment: Real cases from different psychocultural and religious perspectives
  • Improving health and mental well-being in individuals with a late presentation of 46,XX CAH

Session 4

  • Clinical signs and first-line tests to guide the differential diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency
  • 3 challenging cases in DSD and CAH from different African contexts

Session 5

  • Community education and counseling about CAH and DSD
  • Clinical research and challenging case presentations

  • Building a multidisciplinary DSD team in resource-limited contexts, and practical frameworks in challenging settings
