MBChB; M.Med Paediatrics and Child health University of Nairobi; Pediatric Endocrinology, PETCA. An experienced consultant Pediatric endocrinologist at the Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital. He is a founder member and past president of ASPAE and a committee member of IMPE.

Experties

Dr. Renson Mukhwana is a Consultant Pediatric endocrinologist at the Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital (GCH) since 2011 when he completed his training at PETCA – based at Gertrudes Children’s hospital, Nairobi, funded by World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) and supported by European Society of Pediatric endocrinology (ESPE).

At GCH, he runs an outpatient diabetes and endocrine clinic and also attends to inpatient endocrine consults.  Patients seen at the clinic include children with Diabetes, growth disorders, puberty disorders, Thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, bone metabolic disorders, etc. He has a special interest in growth disorders and bone disorders in children. He also has interests in metabolic disorders specifically Lysosomal disorders in which patients are managed in partnership with external funders

Dr. Mukhwana is a founder member and past president of African Society of Pediatric and adolescent endocrinology (ASPAE), he is also a member of ESPE and ISPAD (International Society for Pediatric and adolescent Diabetes) and sits on the planning committee of IMPE (International Meeting of Pediatric Endocrinology) as ASPAE representative. Locally he is a founder member of PESK (Pediatric endocrine society of Kenya), and also a member of Kenya pediatric association (KPA).
