He is the immediate former president of PESK and treasurer ASPAE. He has interest in congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), and disorders of sex development (DSD). He is chair, DSD working group in PESK.
Dr. Laigong is a distinguished paediatric endocrinologist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Laigong is affiliated with the University of Nairobi’s Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, where he contributes to both clinical practice and academic research. His work often involves managing complex endocrine disorders and providing specialized care to children with disorders of sex development (DSD.
He holds an MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and an M.Med (Master of Medicine in Paediatrics) from the University of Nairobi. He is a Pediatric Endocrinology Fellow from the Pediatric Endocrinology Training Centre for Africa (PETCA) program. He was a beneficiary of ESPE fellowship that was hosted by Prof Zee Hogberg at Haifa, Israel.
Dr. Laigong specializes in paediatric endocrinology, focusing on hormonal disorders in children, including type 1 diabetes mellitus, congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), and disorders of sex development (DSD)
He is immediate Chair of PESK and a former treasurer ASPAE. He is an academic faculty at the University of Nairobi’s Department of Paediatrics and Child Health where he teaches and supervises student research work. He practices as consultant paediatrician and paediatric endocrinologist at Kenyatta National Hospital. His research has covered diverse areas of paediatric endocrinology. He is a member of IPICC- a KNCHR committee on people with DSDs.
